Scrubbed and cleaned

I had have never lived with guinea pigs until I adopted these two. I must say I am amazed by how much these boys enjoy their baths. It makes us all look forward to their next one bath — as we have done for the last 5 years.

One crazy cat

PF and Mr Big spend 80% of their time sleeping — I kid you not. Despite all the cat toys and such we invested in to get them active, they would rather lie in bed the whole day while the rest of us are busy working away.

Researchers say cats can sleep up to 20 hours, mostly during the day. Well, these black cats of ours sleep during the day and night.

But whenever there's a full moon, it's one crazy cat-house here.

PF especially sports that 'spaced-out' look — that big beadie eyes of his can send you off the moon!

Apart from his two white toes that I adore, I like how his coat shines in the sun. Who needs Brylcream!

Two white toes

Whenever I see PF's two white toes on his left back paw, it always makes me smile. Those white toes are distinctively his.

More of PF coming up!

Shadowy pigs

I prefer to photograph animals candidly. However, I thought I would try something different and made some low key chiaroscuro images.

I often wonder what tunes they would sing to if the boys could play the cello.

Take me home

We had the privilege of meeting another lot of courageous rescued working dogs who need a home.

These lucky ones are rescued from the most desperate circumstances and undesirable situations - some could not work on a farm, risked being put to sleep or lived in a pound for too long. Despite a warm Spring morning, these little guys braved the heat for their personal photoshoot.

Motivation

I got Stephen to drop these off at Chew Chew's this afternoon — photographs I took for the patrons a while back.

Amongst them, a retired working dog called Knuckles, an Australian Cattle Dog who worked on a farm all his life until he was too old to work anymore. Poor Knuckles has arthritis and has to see the vet every fortnight for his medication, and he is partially deaf. Despite that, he has found a good home and now lives with MS, an elderly gentleman, who adopted him the time when he retired from being a working dog.

There is so much love, respect and trust Knuckles shows towards MS — the bond between the two is hard to describe. I dread to think where Knuckles would have ended up if not for MS.

Good men (and women) like MS and good dogs like Knuckles keep me motivated in my work.

Here, still

I've been busy working on a few things. Will post some updates here soon.

Here is what kept me sane throughout the day:

Red Bubble goodies

I came home to this this evening!

I hope to find some time to take individual snapshots of each of the products ordered. So this will do for now.

For those who probably noticed, I have listed few artworks for sale on Red Bubble.

I tested out Red Bubble's shopping experience and placed an order last Wednesday for a number of items: a framed print, mounted print, canvas print, gift cards and post cards.

It didn't take them too long to arrive.

They came in nicely packed, each of the larger items in its own individual protective plastic and bubble wrap. The gift cards and post cards were transported in a tough bag (one that you can get from most branches of Australian Post ).

I must say I'm impressed with Red Bubble's shopping experience and as well as the quality they produced — I'm happy to know that when someone places an order for my artwork they will get quality finished products.
